Welcome!
The purpose of this blog is to connect Western Washington University Veterans, discuss things that matter to Veterans, and share resources in the community.
Who am I?
My name is Jana Brost and I am a graduate student at WWU in the Student Affairs Administration Program. In my major, it is required to assess a current program on campus and my interest lies in the services (or lack thereof) provided for veterans.
My motivation for this project originally stemmed from growing up in a military home. Within this last year, I have observed my dad prepare for retirement from the United States Navy after 30 years of service. My father received his GED after entering the Navy at 17 years old and has no college education. I imagine his story is one many men and women in the service can identify with. I hope this project lays a foundation for adequate Veteran services at Western to improve the college experience for all of those who served our country.
